COVID-19 UPDATE FOR SEPTEMBER

COVID-19 UPDATE FOR SEPTEMBER

Currently, the plan is for all children to return to school in September. This could be subject to change at anytime, dependent on government guidelines, but we are working towards coming back for the start of the new term.

Reception will be welcomed to school on Wednesday 2nd September 2020.

Nursery will be welcomed to school from Monday 7th September 2020.

Please see important documents to give you information about starting school in September 2020. Due to COVID-19, things have changed lightly around school, largely related to hand hygiene. We have published pupil and parent guides to support you returning/ starting school. They may also answer some the questions you may have when entering a new environment.

There is some slight difference for the Early Years pupil’s (Nursery and Reception), due to the fact they are younger.

Nursery:

  • Nursery pupils will not need to wear uniform. Children will be required to wear fresh, clean clothes for each session. Please ensure they have a change of clothes when attending Nursey sessions.
  • Nursery pupils will not need a washbag. We will provide extra washing facilities and work with the children on good hand hygiene.
  • Nursery pupils will not require PE bags described in the pupil guide. We will work in small groups and clean our equipment once used.
  • Nursery pupils will require a large water bottle, as the water fountains are out of use now.
  • Doors open from 8.30am in the morning and you can collect from 2.45pm in the afternoon sessions to support social distancing on the playground.

Reception:

  • Reception pupils will not need to wear uniform. Children will be required to wear fresh, clean clothes for each session. Please ensure they have a change of clothes when attending Nursey sessions.
  • Reception pupils will require a washbag. We will still provide extra washing facilities and work with the children on good hand hygiene. They will need:
          • Soap
          • Towel (named and a clean one each day)
          • Hand sanitizer (labelled with their name)
          • All placed in a small washbag, labeled with their name.
  • Reception pupils will require PE bags described in the pupil guide- if they have one. Pupils will receive a PE bag at the start of term if they do not have one.
  • Reception pupils will require a large water bottle, as the water fountains are out of use now.
  • Doors open from 8.30am in the morning and you can collect from 2.45pm in the afternoon sessions to support social distancing on the playground.

Please do not being toys in from home.

Children will be asked to wash their hands on the entry into school and throughout the day. Staff will support them with this.

We will encourage social distancing as much as possible. The layout classrooms have been carefully considered to allow for this, but we also want to the children to feel welcomed, safe and happy at school.

Children will not be required to wear PPE/ masks. They may see some staff wearing them if they are conducting first aid on a child and helping them if they feel unwell.
