At Scholar Green we teach a Mastery Curriculum which covers all elements of the statutory National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.

Mathematics offers pupils a powerful way of communicating. They learn to explore and explain their ideas using objects, symbols, diagrams, spoken and written language.

Through our teaching of mathematics we endeavour to stimulate curiosity, foster creativity and equip children with the skills they need in life beyond school by developing their fluency, reasoning and problem solving skills.

Mathematics teaches children how to make sense of the world around them through developing their ability to calculate, reason and solve problems. Mathematics involves developing confidence and competence in number work, geometry, measures and statistics and the using and applying of these skills. We aim to support children in achieving economic well-being by equipping children with a range of computational skills and the ability to solve problems in a variety of contexts by delivering a mastery curriculum.
