Remember, Remember the 5th November!

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Miss Hancock - Reception (EYFS) Year: 2014 - 2015

We had a super time on the 5th November because it was a very time- Bonfire Night! We didn't have fireworks so we watched them on the big screen but we did have our very own bonfire and we toasted marshmallows on it- yum, yum!

We thought about how we could stay safe around a bonfire. Once we were outside we watched the flames and thought about what words we could use to say what they looked like. We could feel the warmth coming from the flames and we could smell the smoke of the wood burning. If we listened carefully we could also hear it hissing and cracking too. Sometimes it made loud cracking noises and it made us jump!

We had a bonfire roleplay area where we practiced keeping safe around a pretend fire. We also made some beautiful artwork by painting our hands and using differnt materials- these are so good they have gone on display in the corridor.
