Chinese New Year 2017

Date: 30th Jan 2017 @ 10:22pm

On Saturday it was Chinese New Year so today we learnt a little bit more about why and how it is celebrated. We had a visitor, called Tang, come in a talk to us about what happens.

We had the opportunity to look at special decorations, special, lucky red envelopes used to give gifts of money. We found out that the colours used, such as reds and golds, are used because they are lucky. We liked all of the pictures of different animals and symbols.

Tang showed us how they use a lions head to dance. We made loud music using cymbals and drums. We had to make very big movement with the lions head- we could even make it's eyes blink!

We had a lot of fun this afternoon and cant wait to find out more!
