Mrs Yarwood- Nursery (EYFS) 2020 - 2021

Mrs Yarwood

Welcome to Scholar Green Nursery Class!

FOR IDEAS FOR WORKING FROM HOME PLEASE SEE OUR CURRICULUM PAGE. DON'T FORGET YOU SHOULD HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING BOOK ACCOUNT TO UPLOAD THINGS YOU HAVE DONE AT HOME.

We will also produce weekly EYFS challenges which you can complete at home. I have tried to keep these as practical as possible, with as little need to print things out. EYFS children love to learn practically, with tqactile experiences, therefore I have tried to encorpourate this into the challenges.

Welcome to Scholar Green Nursery

Nursery is the first stage of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the first stage of your child’s education. We cater for children aged 2 years up until they are 4 years old and ready for the transition into a Reception class. We follow the statutory framework to ensure your children are safe, happy and develop as life long learners. To meet the needs of all children we closely follow the ratio guidance. For children aged two there is at least one member of staff for every four children and for children three and over there is at least one member of staff for every thirteen children.

Our Nursery

Our Nursery class is made up of N1 (our 2 year olds) and N2 (our 3-4 year olds). Activities are planned and delivered to support your child’s current level of development and to encourage them to be creative and independent learners whilst following their own unique interests. Children are assigned a key worker, who supports your child's learning journey within the Nursery day.

This is a time for new beginnings, making friends and learning lots of wonderful experiences and opportunities for learning and growing. In the Nursery, we aim to build upon all the good work you have already done with your child during their early years. Developing your child’s Personal, Social and Emotional skills will help them to feel confident and to achieve their full potential in all areas of learning.

Outdoor Area

Here at Scholar Green we are lucky enough to have a nursery with a large outdoor area which children can access. As we are outdoors every day we recommend children bring wellies, coats, sun cream and hats dependent on the weather. We also advise a spare set of clothing as we sometimes have messy play. Our outdoor learning spaces are interlinked with our Reception class, helping children to make a seamless transition into our school.

Reminders

Our 'Tiddly Boppers' music and movement sessions are every Tuesday morning 9.30-10.00. Tiddly Boppers allows children to learn and develop many skills including...participating in a group, expressing themselves, listening skills, large motor skills, balance and co-ordination, creativity and imagination….and are lots of fun! The sessions use music, actions and some props such as hoops, ribbons, shakers and bubbles to explore rhythm and co-ordination. Please bring your child dressed in their blue 'Tiddly Boppers' tee-shirt.

Our ‘Tiny Tigers’ physical development sessions are every Monday moring. Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. Please bring your child dressed in their orange ‘Tiny Tigers’ tee-shirt.

Come and see us in action

We recommend parents and children come to visit the nursery before they start so they can become familiar with the environment and so that any questions can be asked prior to your child starting the nursery.

If you would like to look around, please do not hesitate to contact us to make an appointment.

Don’t forget to check our blog spot on our class page as well as our facebook page to see what we have been getting up to.
