The Queen's Commonwealth Baton Relay Comes to Congleton

Saturday 31st May was a very exciting for us and the people of Congleton. Along with all the other schools from the CECP partnership, we were lucky enough to take part in the Commonwealth Baton relay. Anne Brightwell, a local Olympic gold medalist, had the honour of carrying the touch through Congleton park, once it had arrived from Manchester.

It was a very long day, waiting for the touch to arrive, preparing to sing in front of thousands of people in Congleton Park and follow Anne Brightwell with the baton around the field. There were lots of important people there as well as news reporters with large TV cameras! We all gave a huge wave and a big smile!

The children beautifully sang Gary Barlow's 'SIng' in front of a very large crowd. The children were a real credit to the school and their behaviour was impeccable! They were absolute stars! Thank you to all of those who came to support us.

Take a look at some of the pictures.
