Pupil Premium Grant
At Scholar Green Primary and Nursery School, we are committed to giving every child the best possible start to their education. One of the important ways we do this is through Pupil Premium funding — additional government support that helps us provide extra opportunities, resources, and personalised help for pupils who may need it.
What Is the Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is extra funding given to schools to help reduce educational inequalities and support children from families who may face financial or other challenges.
Your child may be eligible if they fall into any of these groups:

Children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) now or at any point in the last six years

Children who are looked after by the local authority or who have previously been in care

Children with a parent serving in the armed forces
At Scholar Green, this funding may be used for:

Additional teaching support or small-group interventions

Extra learning resources, books, or equipment

Support for school trips, clubs, or wider learning opportunities

Wellbeing and pastoral programmes to help children feel settled and confident
Why It Matters
Applying for Pupil Premium can make a significant difference to your child’s education — and to our whole school community. Even if your child receives Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) in Reception, Year 1, or Year 2, you still need to apply for Pupil Premium if you think you might be eligible, as this is the only way the school can access the funding.
All applications are confidential, and pupils are never identified as receiving support.
