Our Core Curriculum
Our Core Curriculum
At Scholar Green Primary and Nursery School, we believe that every child deserves access to an ambitious, knowledge-rich and highly inclusive curriculum that enables them to flourish academically, socially and personally. Our curriculum has been carefully designed to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their starting points, develop the knowledge, skills and character they need to succeed in the next stage of their education and beyond. Through carefully sequenced learning, high expectations and exceptional teaching, we inspire children to become confident, resilient, articulate and reflective learners who develop a genuine love of learning.
The quality of our curriculum is recognised both through our strong educational outcomes and the national quality marks we have achieved across a range of curriculum areas, including Physical Education, Science, History, Geography and Mental Health and Wellbeing. These external accreditations reflect our commitment to continuous improvement and our determination to provide the very highest standards of education for every child.
Our curriculum is firmly rooted in the expectations of the National Curriculum whilst being thoughtfully adapted to meet the needs of our unique school community. It is broad, balanced and carefully sequenced so that knowledge and skills build progressively over time, enabling pupils to know more, remember more and do more. Alongside academic excellence, we place equal value on developing pupils' creativity, independence, curiosity and emotional wellbeing through rich first-hand experiences, outdoor learning, educational visits, leadership opportunities and an extensive programme of enrichment.
As recognised in our 2023 Ofsted inspection, Scholar Green is a school with high aspirations for every pupil. Our curriculum reflects these ambitions by ensuring that every child receives a consistently high-quality education that prepares them not only for secondary school, but for a lifetime of learning and success.
