STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths

At Scholar Green Primary School, we are passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, mathematicians and innovators through our STEM provision. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and plays a vital role in preparing children for the rapidly changing world in which they live. These subjects help pupils to develop essential skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and resilience, which are highly valued in both education and future careers. STEM learning is woven throughout our curriculum, where pupils develop scientific enquiry skills, apply mathematical reasoning, explore technology and engage in practical problem-solving activities that encourage curiosity and innovation. Learning is brought to life through hands-on investigations, design challenges, coding opportunities and real-world contexts that help children understand how STEM impacts everyday life. Beyond the classroom, our extensive extra-curricular programme provides further opportunities for pupils to develop their interests and talents through STEM clubs, competitions, special events and educational visits. By fostering a love of STEM from an early age, we equip our pupils with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive in an increasingly technological and interconnected world.
