Performing Arts
At Scholar Green Primary School, the performing arts are at the heart of school life. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to discover their creative talents, build confidence and experience the excitement of performing in front of an audience. From our youngest children in Nursery to our oldest pupils in Year 6, every child is encouraged to shine.
Our pupils love to sing, dance and act, and their enthusiasm, confidence and talent are evident in every performance. Whether they are stepping onto the stage for the very first time or taking on a leading role, our children embrace every opportunity with creativity, determination and pride.
Music is a vibrant part of our curriculum. Pupils enjoy weekly specialist music teaching where they learn to play instruments, read and compose music, create music using technology and listen to and appraise a wide range of musical styles. Many children also choose to develop their instrumental skills further through additional tuition and performances.
Dance is another exciting part of life at Scholar Green. Pupils perform in spectacular dance showcases throughout the year and proudly represent our school in competitions, demonstrating teamwork, resilience and outstanding performance skills.
Our whole-school productions are a true highlight of the year. Every child, from Nursery onwards, takes part in performances that celebrate singing, acting and dance. These memorable productions allow every pupil to experience the magic of theatre while developing confidence, communication skills and a sense of belonging.
The performing arts bring our school community together and create lifelong memories. They inspire creativity, nurture self-belief and give every child the opportunity to discover just how talented they are. At Scholar Green, we are incredibly proud of our performers and the joy, passion and dedication they bring to every rehearsal and every performance.
