Residential Visits
Our fundamental aim at Scholar Green Primary School is to provide the best possible education for all our pupils. It is the aim of the school to place a high value on diversity, treating every member of the school community as an individual, and meeting the needs of all, taking account of gender, ethnicity, culture, religion, language, sexual orientation, age, ability, disability and social circumstances. In doing this, we aim, therefore, to raise the achievement of all the children in the school.
Paris - Key Stage 2
Our Key Stage 2 pupils have the exciting opportunity to take part in a residential visit to Paris, staying at Château de Grande Romaine. During the trip, children explore the heart of Paris and experience some of the world’s most famous landmarks, including climbing the iconic Eiffel Tower and visiting attractions such as the Louvre Museum, Arc de Triomphe and Notre-Dame Cathedral. The residential provides children with valuable opportunities to develop independence, confidence, cultural awareness and social skills, while creating lasting memories with their classmates. Through exploring a new country, trying new experiences and learning beyond the classroom, pupils gain a deeper understanding of history, art and culture whilst having tremendous fun.
Robinwood - Year 6
Our Year 6 pupils enjoy an exciting residential visit to Robinwood Adventure Centre, where they take part in a wide range of outdoor and team-building activities such as climbing, canoeing, archery and the famous giant swing. Throughout the trip, children develop important life skills including resilience, independence, communication, problem-solving and teamwork, while building confidence and supporting one another to overcome new challenges. The visit is always filled with laughter, adventure and unforgettable memories, giving pupils the opportunity to strengthen friendships, try new experiences and have enormous fun in a safe and encouraging environment.
Petty Pool - Year 4
Our Year 4 pupils have the exciting opportunity to attend a residential visit to Petty Pool Outdoor Centre, where they take part in a wide range of outdoor and adventurous activities. The residential is designed to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and independence, while giving children the chance to challenge themselves in new and exciting ways. Through activities such as problem-solving, outdoor exploration and team-building tasks, pupils learn valuable life skills and strengthen friendships in a supportive environment. The experience also links closely to areas of the wider curriculum, encouraging children to develop communication, leadership and perseverance while enjoying memorable experiences beyond the classroom. For many children, the visit is a highlight of their time at school and plays an important role in their personal development.
Tattenhall - Year 2
Each year, our Year 2 pupils take part in a one-night residential visit to Tattenhall Outdoor Education Centre. This exciting experience supports their learning in geography by giving children the opportunity to explore and learn about the local environment through practical, outdoor activities. For many pupils, this is their first time staying away from home, making it a valuable experience in developing independence, confidence and resilience. Throughout the residential, children are encouraged to work together, try new experiences and build positive relationships with their peers in a safe and supportive setting. The visit creates lasting memories and plays an important role in supporting both academic learning and personal development.
Educational Visits and Outdoor and Adventurous Activities are an integral part of the children’s education at Scholar Green Primary School. They offer opportunities to enrich the curriculum, enabling the children to have first-hand experience of a wide range of topics and activities. On residential visits especially, there is opportunity to develop social skills which have a long-lasting beneficial effect.
