Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the Government to help schools support pupils who may face barriers to learning and to ensure that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. The funding is used to provide additional educational support, interventions, enrichment opportunities, resources, pastoral support and other initiatives that help improve outcomes and raise attainment.

At our school, Pupil Premium funding helps us to provide targeted support that enables children to thrive both academically and personally. The funding may be used to support learning in the classroom, provide access to educational visits and experiences, enhance wellbeing provision and ensure that all pupils can fully participate in school life.

Could My Child Be Eligible?

Even if your child receives Universal Infant Free School Meals in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, it is important that eligible families still apply for benefits-related Free School Meals. This allows the school to receive valuable Pupil Premium funding which directly benefits our pupils.

Why Applying Matters

Registering for Free School Meals does more than provide a free lunch. It can also help the school access additional funding that can be used to benefit pupils through:

  • Additional teaching and learning support

  • Small group interventions

  • Educational visits and enrichment opportunities

  • Pastoral and wellbeing support

  • Resources and equipment to enhance learning

  • Initiatives that help close attainment gaps

We encourage all families who believe they may be eligible to apply, as this funding makes a significant difference to the opportunities and support we can provide for our pupils.
